Smith & Garrat go Racing!

To celebrate the successful delivery of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Oak Room to the new V&A in Dundee and winning the HHA Sotheby’s award, Smith & Garratt sponsored a race at Kelso Racecourse’s twilight meeting on 19th September.  This meeting marked the opening of the new parade ring, winners’ enclosure and viewing terraces – works set-out by Smith & Garratt.  We invited two-dozen colleagues to enjoy the races and to celebrate recent achievements.  Enormous fun was had by all – despite the blustery weather – and some left with more cash than they came with.  Our congratulations go to the connections of Cubomania, the 13/8 favourite who carried off £5,745 by winning the two-mile Smith & Garratt Handicap Steeplechase (Class 3) by three lengths.  Thankfully a sponsor doesn’t have to fund all of that on top of feeding and watering guests!
