Coldingham Priory

Smith & Garratt are pleased to announce that works are underway at the A-listed Coldingham Priory Church. The six-month programme of masonry repairs includes 568 indented repairs, 73 carved stone replacements and 937 square metres of hacking-out and re-pointing … identified and plotted using photogrammetry. T Ferris Stonemasons submitted the best tender and have made a good start – using a carefully-specified, bespoke lime-mortar mix. The Parish of Coldingham & St Abbs is grateful to the Church of Scotland for funding; the stone supplier is Hutton Stone Co Ltd from West Fishwick; the supplier of hydraulic lime and aggregates is JT Dove Ltd, Berwick-upon-Tweed.
